I intend to submit a recipe or two for the third edition. I even sent my family the contact information and requested they take the time to send in recipes too. My great grandparents were from the East Side and my father and mother grew up just blocks from the market during the 40's and 50's.
Please let me know if there are any copies of the First and Second Editions of the Cookbook. I would love to have a complete set and continue to add one each year.

My family and I are planning a visit to Buffalo in September 2010 and we are looking for a unique experience. What should we expect to find at your wonderful market?

We are very excited about the Infringement Festival coming to the market. That will be a really nice and welcome programming addition. Thanks for landing that.

There have been reports of some bad company amongst the cabbage as well as hungry aphids. Cabbage worms will feast on cabbage, broccoli, brussel sprouts and other leafy greens and take it down in days. What you can do is pick off the worms you see and sprinkle the whole plant with a mixture of one cup flour to 2 tablespoons cayenne pepper. Ladybugs will eat aphids and restore balance to the garden. We are releasing ladybugs today!!

Does anyone have access to worms?

EM Chruschiki should be ashamed of the products they sell. Poppyseed pastries (cakes, as some call them) are not so easy to come by in this area and I've been orderring mine from Butterwood Bakery in Wilkes Barre. I thought I'd give a local bakery a shot and stopped at the Market this past Saturday. I was very impressed with Lupas meats and very unimpressed with EM. Purchased a very expensive poppyseed pastry and a VERY expensive whole rye. My suspicion is the poppyseed roll was made and packed in sand during the Clinton era. The bread - rye discs.

Tom.....I really appreciate the things you and the committee are doing to keep the Broadway market going. I visit the Broadway market often to get my meats, etc. Thank you again for keeping me informed.

God Bless you,
Eve Bennett
