The East Side Festival is made possible by a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts Regional Economic Development Council and a lead sponsorship from M & T Bank

The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, in collaboration with the BPO’s Diversity Council and the Central Terminal Restoration Corporation, is producing a one-day East Side Festival celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Central Terminal, the historic art deco gem, a former railroad station nestled on the East Side of Buffalo. The festival will be held at the Terminal on Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 1:30 PM to 9 PM and is free and open to the public—no tickets or reservations required.

Throughout the day, we will celebrate the rich history of Buffalo’s East Side as seen through the lens of the cultural and culinary organizations that still thrive there, including food and drinks from the Broadway Market, talent from Buffalo’s Colored Musicians Club, the African American Cultural Center, Harmony Polish Dancers, the German American Musicians Association,  and others. A  Cultural Row and Artisan Gallery of exhibitors from East Side organizations devoted to the arts, entertainment and history will be open throughout the day. The festival culminates with a full symphonic performance by the BPO at 7:30 PM, featuring music from the era in which the Central Terminal first opened its doors in 1929, and repertoire reflective of the neighborhood from 1830 to present time.

    Schedule to follow.
