Broadway Market Packed on Easter Weekend; Optimistic About Future

Good Friday means backed up traffic and lines aplenty around Broadway and Fillmore. The Broadway Market enjoys it’s biggest day of the year.

This year there is a different feeling in the air though. Maybe it is the record-warm spring temperatures, but vendors say it is also record crowds. There is no confirmation that they’ve broken any records at the market, but some vendors are reporting a nearly 200% increase in business from last year.

Over the past six months, the new development at the market has been new management. Rather than appointing a manager who would be a Buffalo City employee, City Hall contracted with a management firm. Tom Kerr is the Director and says the approach has undergone a total transformation.
