The City of Buffalo committed this year to open a commercial kitchen in the historic Broadway Market. To help make this kitchen a success, the city is seeking your input.

An objective of the kitchen is small business development. The commercial kitchen will be a licensed kitchen for food trucks, caterers, future food businesses . For potential commercial users, you can find a survey at www.surveymonkey.com/r/XFNGHZJ.

Deadline for online surveys is April 18, 2016.

Please join us for the 8th Annual Peep Eating Contest at the Broadway Market on Saturday, March 19th, 2016 starting at 1pm.

 

In front of Market near community room.

Peep Eating  Contest Age Groups:

7 years old and younger

8 yrs. old – 12 yrs. olds

13 yrs. old – 17 yrs. old

18 yrs. old and older

Participants must register prior to event and must also sign a waiver…we will have available at the event or you can fill out now and bring with you. You can register beginning at 12pm outside of Broadway Opticians at the front of the market.

This is a fantastic photo book featuring 100 pages of B&W photos featuring the market’s past and present with an introduction by Fillmore District Councilman David Franczyk.

The book was edited by local photographer Michael Mulley of Queen City Gallery.

Proceeds from the sale of the books benefits the Friends of the Broadway Market District — an organization that supports the Broadway Market through volunteer work and events.

The book can be purchased at Lewandowski Produce at the market for $19.99 during regular business hours (8am-5pm, Monday through Saturday) or you can order the book via mail using an order form.

This book makes for a wonderful gift for any event or season.

Buffalo’s Best Kielbasa Contest on Dyngus Day!

So you think you can make kielbasa?

Maybe you even think that your kielbasa is the Best in Buffalo. Applications are being sought for Buffalo’s Best Kielbasa Contest in the Wholesale, Commercial and Homemade categories.

Here’s your chance to prove it. The Broadway Market and Adam Mickiewicz Library & Dramatic Circle (Mickey’s) are bringing back the spirited Buffalo’s Best Kielbasa Contest on Dyngus Day, March 28, 2016 at 12:00 PM. This way you can start your Dyngus Day celebration early in Polonia at Buffalo’s Broadway Market .

This Contest will converge Dyngus Day revelers, polish beer connoisseurs, and polish sausage lovers into the Heart of Polonia to determine Buffalo’s Best Kielbasa. The sponsor of this event is Fillmore District Council Member David A. Franczyk and he is looking for the best kielbasa-makers in the area.

The winner of this year’s contest will receive a basket of Polish Cheer and best of all, the honor of being designated Buffalo’s Best Homemade, Commercial, and Wholesale Kielbasa and People’s Choice Winner.

The contest will be held at The Broadway Market, 999 Broadway , Buffalo, NY from Noon- 2pm. During the contest, a Polish Beer Bar will offer unique brands of Polish Beer. Tastings will be offered (3 for $2) and you can certainly buy a bottle to enjoy.

Admission to the event is Free. Tickets for Kielbasa Tastings will be sold for. 50 each . Those in attendance will receive a ballot to vote for the People’s Choice Contest (which means you get to sample the best from the Commercial Vendors and help decide the People’s Choice Winner)

The Broadway Market will continue its Dyngus Day Celebrations with the The Knewz and Polish Beer Bar from 1pm until 7pm.

If you think your kielbasa is the Best in Buffalo. Applications are being accepted for Buffalo’s Best Kielbasa Contest in Wholesale, Commercial, and Homemade categories until March 18th. Anyone who wishes to participate in the kielbasa contest must register in advance by completing a registration form.
